The province sits directly on the Bangkok–Siem Reap overland corridor via Poipet. Converting a transit stop into one or two nights is straightforward, and it breaks up a long drive for independent travellers.
Community tourism revenue here reaches more than 200 households and funds schools, water filters and temple maintenance. This is verifiable and specific — clients increasingly ask for exactly this.
Be straight with clients: roads are partly laterite, accommodation outside the capital is homestay-only and basic, and the crane season is strictly January to April. Well-briefed travellers rate this province highly; badly briefed ones do not.
